Madhya Pradesh is one of the states of India and is
centrally located in India. Its capital is Bhopal and largest city is
Indore.Due to its geographical location it is often referred to as the “Heart
of India”. Madhya Pradesh is the second largest state in India by area and
sixth largest state in India by population. It is surrounded by five states
Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

experience every time. Waterfalls like Dhuadhaar and Bhedhghat has given this
state a unique identity. Rock shelter paintings of Bhimbetka are one of a kind
and are the earliest evidence of human existence during Mesolithic period.
Apart
from natural heritage, history and culture also marked this state with numerous
important events. Ujjain is one the most religious city of Madhya Pradesh.
Ujjain is also one of the four places in India where Kumbh Mela is celebrated
after every 12 years. It is a famous saying about Ujjain is that there are so
many temples in this pious city that if you carry two carts of grain and giving
just one handful of grain at every temple, then also you will run short of
grains but the list of temples at Ujjain is still going on. Likewise Delhi,
Madhya Pradesh has also seen the rise and fall of several Kings including
Harshwardhan, Guptas, Mauryan Empire, Chandelas, Bundels, Tomars, Mughals and
Marathas.
